Amid Crackdown, US House Committee to Vote on Crypto Bill Soon

Some Republicans in Congress, led by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry, have been working to create a measure outlining cryptocurrency sector regulations.

One of the most influential US Republicans announced on Tuesday that he plans to have a committee vote on a bill that would provide a comprehensive crypto regulatory framework.

That comes amid a significant crackdown by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on crypto exchanges.

The virtual currencies taking the most of the SEC's attention vary from the idea of the recipient of the most prestigious prize in computer science to the cryptocurrency token powering the most popular blockchain-based video game.
