Animoca Brands has partnered with MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi's metaverse firm VR46 Metaverse.
VR46 is a conglomerate of companies founded by Rossi that oversees various motorsport-related projects, including VR46 Metaverse.
Animoca Brands and VR46 Metaverse will explore gaming and Web3 initiatives with the aid of Gravitaslabs. The trio will launch a motorsport experience in The Sandbox titled "ValeVerse," which rewards players for their skills.
Rewards include exclusive benefits, signed merchandise, race tickets and a meet-and-greet with Rossi. Digital assets like iconic bikes and avatars will be available on The Sandbox.
The group plans to expand to other Web3 metaverse platforms and work with other partners including the Roblox game "Moto Island" and artist Mad Dog Jones.
Will Griffiths, Animoca Brands vice president of commercial strategy, highlighted how the partnership can bring Rossi to life in the metaverse "across multiple activations," offering many ways to "create wondrous experiences for Valentino to connect with fans all over the world."
Animoca Brands and its companies have been accelerating its Web3 foray and partnership strategies. Recently its subsidiary Darewise Entertainment partnered with Horizen Labs to launch the first-ever metaverse token for the Bitcoin ecosystem.
