Based in Singapore, Evans Huangfu joined the Singapore-based firm Arcane Group this month, after close to two years at Huobi, where he was its head of investment/investment director at Huobi Ventures.
Huangfu has a background of Finance and Data Science, and his past experiences include equity research at leading Chinese brokers, private banking at Bank of China, auditing at EY, and more. He also worked as a consultant at LHSC, where he focused on hospital resource planning during the covid pandemic through an operational research method.
Huangfu was a panelist at Blockhead's Blockhaus 2022 event, speaking about venture capital in the crypto industry.
Growing Team
Huangfu isn't the only partner who has joined Arcane from Huobi - Frank Fan joined the firm in August 2022, after over 4 years as a senior director there, focusing on strategic planning and APAC business expansion and investment.
Other partners that have joined Arcane in the past year include Karl Mjardsjo, who joined in February 2022 from TradeForward, a fintech for algorithmic and quantitative trading of digital and crypto assets; and Chew Min Wei, the firm's partner and head of trading, who joined in March 2022.
Recent additions to the Arcane portfolio include AlgoRai Finance, which brings structured products with automated option strategies in Algorand’s DeFi space, and Suberra, a Singapore-based software company that is building a cryptocurrency payments platform for businesses to accept automated recurring subscriptions and one-time crypto payments.
