Visual art and music have never been too foreign to each other, but NFTs are now bridging the two mediums more than ever.

88rising – a music platform and label for Asian artists – will release its first NFT collection at Coachella 2022. With artwork from multidisciplinary visual artist Curry Tian, the collection is an extension of 88rising’s partnership with FTX US using Solana and Metaplex.

88rising, founded by Sean Miyashiro and Jaeson Ma has signed Asian artists from around the world including Rich Brian, Joji, BIBI, Dumbfounded and more.

A fraction of proceeds from the NFTs will be donated to the Asian Mental Health Institute, whilst perks include dedicated entry lines at Coachella, meet-ups, early access to music, VIP experiences, access to tickets for 88rising’s Head In The Clouds festivals and more.

“This collection is a surreal visual statement of eternal optimism, and the unending belief in the boundless power of asian music culture – all redeemable for digital and physical experiences at the festival”, 88rising said about the NFT collection on Twitter.

Owners of the NFTs will also own a piece of the label’s Head In The Clouds performance, which will transform into a new NFT featuring a 15-second video of stage visuals from the performance by Tian.

Fans can start minting the NFT collection from Tuesday 9am PT on the Coachella website. Currently 5,000 Cloud Show NFTs are listed for US$88.00, 1,000 Head In The Clouds NFTs listed for US$288.00, and six View From The Clouds NFTs listed for an undisclosed amount.
